Eleanor Turner was born between 1779 and 1784, daughter of Terisha Turner and Joannah Rives. She was between 26 and 44 years of age when she was enumerated in 1810. But, if her father was born c1766, she could not have been born the same year.3
She was also known as Ellenor Turner.4

Eleanor Turner and Thomas White obtained a marriage bond on 18 April 1808 in Warren County, North Carolina.4,5

In May 1835, the land of Terisha Turner, dec'd, was alloted to his heirs in this term of Court in Warren County, North Carolina. Heirs named: Terisha Turner; Stephen R. Turner; Reaves Turner; Martha Williams; Susanna Stephens' heirs; Ellenora White; John Stephens by right of his wife Susanah (I thought her husband was Asa?); Thomas White by right of his wife.6

I cannot find her in subsequent census enumerations for certain, although there were a number of Elenor Whites enumerated - two in North Carolina and one in Mississippi and Indiana. Nor can I find death/burial information as of 20 Dec 2016.

Elizabeth Turner was born circa 1769, daughter of James Turner and Rebecca Hamner, in Amherst County, Virginia Colony.5

Elizabeth Turner and Leonard Phillips Jr. obtained a marriage bond on 19 November 1792 in Amherst County, Virginia, with John Turner (probably Elizabeth's brother, John (L)) as security with Owen Haskins and James Turner as witnesses.2

Elizabeth Turner married Leonard Phillips Jr., son of Zachariah Phillips and Frances White, on 19 November 1792 at Amherst County, Virginia, with Rev. Mr. Campbell officiating at the marriage.6,7

On 24 November 1805, she is named Eliz. Phillips in her father's will of this date in which James Turner leaves her his Kentucky plantation with the rest to be sold by Benjamin Dawson of Kentucky, his executor there.1,8

On 2 April 1812, 100 acres of land appearing to be a part of James Turner's estate considered as residual and not specifically designated in his will, but left to his daughters in an undivided interest was sold to William Hamner for $500 in Nelson County, Virginia,

The deed abstract reads: Teril (Terisha) Turner and wife, Polly; Leonard Phillips and wife, Eliza; Page Daniel (Dameron) and wife, Susannah; Henry Rittenhouse and wife, Patsey; Jno. Graves and wife, Lucy; Jesse Joblin and wife, Rebecca; Nancy; Mildred and Judith Turner conveyed to William Hamner of Albemarle. Leod. Phillips is later called Zach Phillips and Daniel is Dameron in the confusing deed . . $500; 100 acres. Lines: Cove Creek, Benj. Payne, Matthews, Saml. Anderson, mill tract. Witnesses: Saml., Henry, Terisha and Wm. Turner, Wm. H. Leigh. These signatures appear: Little Page Dameron, Henry Rittenhouse, Jno. Hopling, Susannah Dameron, Leanna Phillips, Jno. Groves, Polly Turner, Mildred Turner, Nancy Turner, Rebecca Jobling, Lucy Graves, Patsy Rittenhouse, Judith Turner.9,10

In 1820, it has been suggested that they moved to Georgia c1816 and were enumerated in Wilkes County in the 1820 census. I find this unlike because I found them in Sumner County, Tennessee in 1820.11,12,13

Elizabeth Phillips died before 1850 because her husband was enumerated by himself in the 1850 census.

Elizabeth Turner was born on 3 February 1775, daughter of Stephen Turner and Susannah Hamner.1

Elizabeth Turner and Rowland Thornton obtained a marriage bond on 18 December 1797 in Warren County, North Carolina, with William Rives as bondsman.3,4,5

On 14 October 1799, she is named Elizabeth Thornton in her father's will of this date.2

On 17 November 1828, Rowland Thornton's estate was administered by Greenberry Thornton and James Thornton as administrators. Elizabeth, his widow, refused to qualify herself as administrator.

A number of men, who appeared to have been friends of the family, were designated commissioners to safeguard the interests of the widow Elizabeth. These commissioners assigned to her one-third of the value of eighteen slaves whom her husband had owned at Pittsylvania County, Virginia.6

Elizabeth Thornton died before February 1840 because she was not named in the Chancery Court case between her children.7

Elizabeth Turner was born on 29 December 1798, daughter of John (L) Turner and Elizabeth Bailey, in North Carolina.4,5,6

Elizabeth Turner, 20, married Thomas B. Buntin, 20, son of William Buntin and Mary Cowan, on 27 April 1819 in Sumner County, Tennessee. No amount of research has turned up a Barten husband (as mentioned in the will) and given the way names were spelled at this time, I think this is probably the correct marriage.1,7

On 18 May 1835, she is named Elizabeth Barten in her father's will of this date.

In a Sumner County, Tennessee Chancery Court proceeding, she is named Elizabeth Buntin.1,8

Between 1848 and 1849, a Chancery Court case was brought between Enoch Simpson (Martha's husband) and Nelson B. Turner over the guardianship of John Turner, Nelson's nephew, which ran over a period of two years.

A number of depositions were taken from family members. Elizabeth Turner Buntin testified that Martha Johnson Turner Simpson wanted Nelson to have management of her son's estate and that her father should not have his hands on it. Elizabeth further testified that Martha remarried only six months or so after James' death.

On 6 April 1849, Elizabeth testified on her brother's behalf in a Chancery Court over the schooling of John A. Turner, son of James H. Turner, Elizabeth's brother. She was said to be about 50 years of age.8

Elizabeth Bunton died on 25 December 1871 at age 726 and was buried in Maple Hill Cemetery, Portland, Sumner County, Tennessee.6

Elizabeth Turner was born circa 1810, daughter of Bailey Turner and Susanna Easter, in Tennessee.2

Elizabeth Turner married Joseph Jones. I found one possible record for Washington County, Tennessee, but it did not include the name of the bride! I cannot find a marriage record for them on Ancestry or FamilySearch as of 17 Feb 2021.

On 23 October 1833, she is named Elizabeth Jones in her father's will in which her children are mentioned (but unnamed).1

I found a number of Elizabeth Jones' in the 1870 census, but none were living with a Joseph Jones, nor could I find her in Sumner County as head of household.

Elizabeth Turner was born circa 1833, daughter of Edmund Turner and Virginia Jane Dodson, in Tennessee.1

There were several marriages in Sumner County between Bettie and Betsey Turners in 1875 and 1879,but none listed other family members so I cannot be sure if she ever married.

However, there is a Find a Grave memorial page for a Mollie E Turner, born 6 Oct 1832, died 5 Sep 1866 and buried in Bethpage Cemetery, Bethpage, Sumner County, Tennessee. Could this be she?2

Elizabeth D. Turner and Beverly Jones obtained a marriage bond on 2 March 1841 in Amherst County, Virginia, with Lewellen W. Jones as security and M. J. Jones and Tandy Jones, her guardian, as witnesses.1,4
The Marriage Return was received by the court in Amherst County, Virginia, on 1 March 1841.5

Elizabeth D. Jones died of Typhoid Fever on 8 August 1873 in Amherst County, Virginia. The informant was Beverly Jones, her husband. The problem here is that she is said to be the daughter of William and Suthy Turner which concerns me. Have I got Elizabeth with the wrong father?3
