     James Watkins was born circa 1856, son of James Rives Watkins and Martha Talley, in Virginia.1

     Two possible men of this name were enumerated in the 1880 census: a J. S. Watkins, born in Cabarrus County, North Carolina and a J W Watkins, born in 1856, in Palmers Springs, Mecklenburg County, Virginia. I don't have a lot of confidence in either.

     In 1900, only a Wadkins was enumerated in Hoopers Creek Township, Henderson County, North Carolina.

     Nor can I find deathburial information for him as of 22 Dec 2016.

     James Rives Watkins was born on 28 February 1829, son of John Watkins and Mary Rives, in Warren County, North Carolina.1
     He also is reported to have been born in January 1827.2

     James Rives Watkins, 24, married Martha Talley, 14, on 22 June 1853 in Warren County, North Carolina.1

     He performed his Military Service during the Civil War "as a Confederate soldier in Company G, 43rd North Carolina Regiment He was wounded and captured near Silver Springs, Maryland; confined at Old Capitol Prison and transfered to Elmira, New York before being paroled in 1865 and transfered to the James River in Virginia for exchange..1

     James Rives Watkins died on 12 October 1907 at age 78 in Warren County, North Carolina,1 and was buried in Warren Plains United Methodist Church Cemetery, Warrenton, Warren County, North Carolina.1

     His surname also is spelled as Wadkins.4

     John Watkins and Mary Rives obtained a marriage bond on 15 August 1823 at Warren County, North Carolina.6,1,7

     John married Mary Rives, 21, daughter of William McGuffy Rives and Mary Turner, on 15 August 1823 at Warren County, North Carolina.1

     John Watkins and Jane M. Clardy obtained a marriage bond on 20 February 1837 with Jno Wadkins as bondsman.8

     John Watkins married Jane M. Clardy on 26 February 1837 in Granville County, North Carolina.9,10

     John Watkins married Mary V. Hubbard Mrs. Mary V (Hubbard) Hines on 2 August 1869 in Warren County, North Carolina.11,12

     John H. Watkins was born circa 1868, son of James Rives Watkins and Martha Talley, in North Carolina.1

     I found a John H Watkins, born c1867 with no state specified who married Susan Mcguffee on 22 Jan 1890 in Montgomery County, Arkansas. His place of residence was Buckville in that county. Susan was 17, born in c 1873. When I checked the actual record no further information as to his origins could be found. I have no idea if this could be the right man or not. I could not find a marriage in North Carolina for him.2

In their household were the following children: Ava, 19; Annie R, 16; Iola, 15; Jeff B, 11; Ida R, 7; Carrie, 1; and his mother, Sarah L. Watkins (which would fit this man's mother)?4

     Loney W. Watley was born on 11 September 1866 in Alabama.2
     He also is reported to have been born on 11 September 1867 in Alabama. He was the son of Jeff Watley.3,4

     Loney married Dixie Eugene Turner, daughter of William Suddarth Turner and Emily Francis Kincaid, circa 1897. I cannot find a marriage record for them as of 30 May 2021.1,3

     Loney W. Watley left a will dated on 17 November 1930 in Stonewall County, Texas. In L. W. Watley's will, he names his wife Dixie E. Watley and his children: Aaron Watley, Alfred WSatley, Alice Kite, Hattie McBeth, Mamie Scott, Dessie Gartman, Blanche Palmer, Jessie Lee Watley, William Watley; Ida Mae Watley, Stella Watley; Della Watley and his youngest daughter, Dixie Ruth Watley.5

     According to his death certificate he was a Stockfarmer.4

     Loney W. Watley died of Chronic Nephritis on 15 July 1931 at age 64 in Stonewall County, Texas,4 and was buried in Dowell Cemetery, Rotan, Fisher County, Texas.2

     His estate was probated on 22 July 1931 in Stonewall County, Texas.5
