Dionitia Tempe Davis was born circa 1824, daughter of Jacob Davis and Rhoda Turner, in Warren County, North Carolina.3 She was also known as Dionisia.2

Dionitia Tempe Davis and Howell Richard Moss obtained a marriage bond on 20 June 1840 in Warren County, North Carolina.4

In the November 1859 Term of Court at Warren County, as a result of a petition by the heirs of Jacob Davis, his slaves were ordered to be divided into six shares between Mrs. Rhoda Davis; John H. Fleming and wife Nancy P; Thaddeus B. Rowland and wife Mary T; James E. Pattillo and wife Winifred; Howell R. Moss and wife Dionisia; and Mrs. Sophronia Moss. This proves Rebecca Johnson was already deceased with Sophronia her only heir. It also proves Mr. Moss was also deceased by Nov 1859.

On 2 Dec 1859, the division was filed with the court.5

Dionitia Tempe Moss died before 1870 because she was not enumerated in the 1870 census.
