Elizabeth Sims was born between 1790 and 1800.3

Elizabeth Sims also is reported to have been born on 3 January 1781 in Granville County, North Carolina.4

Elizabeth Sims and James Turner obtained a marriage bond on 9 February 1801 in Warren County, North Carolina, with Wm. Rives and M. Duke Johnson as bondsmen. The book, Some Turners of Virgina, states that James married Molly Allen. There is a marriage bond for a James Turner and Molly Allen in Warren County, North Carolina. I believe she has confused two separate James Turner who lived in Warren County. Susannah Hamner Turner's Bible specifically names his wife as Elizabeth. There were two marriage bonds for men named James Turner and women named Elizabeth. However, Elizabeth Sims fits better because of the birth of James and Elizabeth's children as listed in this bible. It should also be noted that Hamner Turner married Bathena Sims, probably a sister to Elizabeth.1,5,2

Elizabeth Sims married James Turner, son of Stephen Turner and Susannah Hamner, after 9 February 1801 in Warren County, North Carolina.1,6
