Johann Michael Probst was baptized on 13 March 1701 at Kandel, present-day Germersheim District, Rheinland-Pfalz, Germany.1

In 1727, German records show him as a traveling potter and not married.1

On 17 October 1732, he arrived in Philadelphia on the Pink John and William, Contable Tymperto, Master, from Rotterdam, last from Dover. The ship contained sixty-one men above sixteen and one hundred and nine women and children of both sexes of different ages - a total of 170. He was listed on the ship's manifest as single and as sick when they docked at Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania Colony.1,2

Johann Michael, 32, married Anna Maria Keller on 25 December 1733 at Muddy Creek Lutheran Church, Cocalico, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania Colony, in a ceremony performed by the Rev. John Caspar Stoever. This date is shown in Rev. Schumacher's records.1,3

Johann Michael Probst died circa 1771 in Lynn Township, Lehigh County, Pennsylvania Colony.

Anna Maria Kerr was born between 1710 and 1715 in Cocalico, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania Colony.1

"For a long time, it has been assumed that her name was Anna Maria Keller, widow of
Peter Keller, but that has now been determined to be incorrect. That Anna Maria Keller
lived in Lancaster County, PA. For this Johann Michael to have married her in the Muddy
Creek Lutheran Church, Cocalico Twp, Lancaster County, it would have meant that
Johann Michael left his brother and sister and their families and went to Lancaster Co
instead of Berks/Lehigh Co. Why would he have done such a thing? And then to come
to Berks/Lehigh Co a year or so after his marriage? Not possible, for his first child was
born in Lynn Twp in 1736. However, Johann Michael Propst and Anna Maria Keller had
four children in Lancaster, from 1734 to 1738."1
