Elvira P. Wright was born circa 1858, daughter of Silas Davis Wright and Susan Palmer, in North Carolina.1,3 She was also known as Viola Wright.4

Elvira P. Wright married James M. Burroughs, son of William W. Burroughs and Harriet Hamner Turner, on 29 November 1915 in Warren County, North Carolina.
However, the marriage index indicates that E. P. Wright was Black which conflicts with her enmeration in 1910 as White. An interracial marriage during this era is unlikely. In addition, she was Sarah's sister.4,5
