     Henrietta Ewers died on 27 June 1941 at age 76 in Pleasant Hill,2 and was buried in Crescent Heights Cemetery, Pleasant Hill, Pike County, Illinois.2

     "Miss Mattie Ball, daughter of Daniel T. and Mary E. Ball, was born February 16, 1872 at Pleasant Hill, Illinois, and departed this life at the Illini Community Hospital, Pittsfield, Illinois, May 10, 1956, at the age of 84 years, 2 months and 24 days."

     "She was converted and became a member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church at an early age, moving her membership to the Nebo Baptist Church in 1923. She moved her membership to the Calvary Baptist Church at Pittsfield, Illinois, July 14, 1950, where she was a faithful member until her health prevented her from attending the services of her church."

     "She spent her entire life except the last nine years in Pleasant Hill Township. She made her home with a sister, Mrs. Hettie Ewers, until her death on June 27, 1941. She has lived in Pittsfield the last nine years, the last six in the home of Mrs. Claire Doyle. She had been in ailing health for the past year, and was confined to her bed for about two weeks preceding her departure."

     "She is survived by one sister, Helen Ewers; two nephews, Floyd and Ernest Ewers, all of Pleasant Hill; and a host of other friends and relatives. She was preceded in death by her sister, Mrs. Hettie Ewers in 1941."2
