     John Thompson Turner was born on 14 December 1824, son of William Turner and Mariah Page Thompson, in Tennessee.1

     In 1845, "he began farming for himself on his father's tract, and after his death sold out and purchased his present farm, which at this time consists of 600 acres of excellent land."3

     John Thompson Turner, 30, married Susan Elizabeth Box, 17 on 27 September 1855. I cannot find a marriage record for them as of 2 Apr 2017.3

     He performed his Military Service by enlisting in Company F, Tenth Tennessee Cavalry Regiment, serving as a high private until the close of the Civil War.3

     "He is an enterprising and successful farmer of the county, always strictly exact in his business transactions, meeting his obligations faithfully and promptly; he is respected by all who know him."3

     John Thompson Turner died on 12 January 1898 at age 734 and was buried in Box Cemetery, Denver, Humphreys County, Tennessee.2
