     Edward Boyd Hewell was born on 10 May 1842 in Montgomery County, Tennessee. He was the son of Thomas Charles Hewell and Lucinda O'Brien Hewell.2

     He joined the Confederacy as a Private in the 14th Tennessee Infantry Regiment where he fought in the first battle of Ft. Donelson where he was taken prisoner and remained so until the end of the war.2

     In 1864, he married Mary willilam Wlliott (1845-1918.)3

     Rufus Rives died on 6 June 1920 at age 74 in Christian County, Kentucky,3 and was buried in Rives Burial Ground, Garrettsburg, Christian County, Kentucky.3

     Martha Sophia Rives was born in 1849, daughter of Robert Clay Rives and Rebecca Ann Cox, in Tennessee.1,2 She was also known as Sophia.2

     Martha Sophia Rives died in 18762 and was buried in Salem Cemetery, Union City, Obion County, Tennessee. Her headstone says "Dau of _C and RA Rives."2
